Submission Preparation Checklist

As part of the submission process, authors are required to check off their submission's compliance with all of the following items, and submissions may be returned to authors that do not adhere to these guidelines.
  • The English grammar has been checked and typographical mistake must be avoided.
  • Except for graphical abstract, all submission files are in Microsoft Word (.doc or .docx) file format.
  • The authors' name, authors' information, author's affiliation, authors' contribution, and acknowledgments should be provided in a separate document named as the Title Page to ensure the double-blind peer-review process.
  • The manuscript has been checked by standard plagiarism software (Turnitin) and the similarity index of the manuscript is less than 20%. The editorial office will recheck the similarity index of the submitted manuscript.
  • Cover letter to the editor-in-chief has been provided with highlights of the submitted manuscript. The highlights shall include the novelty and critical achievement of the present research work. The corresponding author should state "why the submitted manuscript shall be published in JICS".
  • The abstract must be followed by the graphical abstract containing an image (artwork) with appropriate size with up to 9 x 5 cm (in jpeg 300 dpi) and a short description up to 80 words in Palatino Linotype with the font size of 8.
  • The text adheres to the stylistic and bibliographic requirements outlined in the Author Guidelines. All figures, tables, and schemes should be included in the manuscript as one single file with a maximum size of 5 MB.
  • The manuscript submission has been neither previously published nor under-reviewed in any other journals (this statement should be clearly stated in the cover letter to editor).
  • Three (3) suggested reviewers have been provided in which they are not in the same institution and they have no research collaboration with the corresponding author for the last 3 years.
  • When available, DOI of the references should be provided for references and the metadata requirement during the submission process.
  • Submitted documents at "Article Components" are as follows:
    1. MS-JICS in doc or docx extension as a main manuscript,
    2. Title Page in doc or docx extension,
    3. Cover Letter in doc or docx extension,
    4. Suggested Reviewers in doc or docx extension, and
    5. Graphical Abstract in picture file extensions.

Author Guidelines


Journal of the Indonesian Chemical Society (J. Idn. Chem. Soc.) is a double-blind international peer-review and open access journal covering all aspects of the chemistry field. The journal publishes original recent research progress, mini review, review, communication and full paper. The papers published in this journal implies that the work described has not been, and will not be published elsewhere, except in the abstract, as part of a lecture, review or academic thesis.

The manuscript should be submitted through our online system by the corresponding author which is responsible for the manuscript during the submission and peer-review process. To submit your manuscript, register and login to the submission website. A cover letter must be prepared for each manuscript submission. It should be clearly declared why the manuscript is significant to be published. The corresponding author should confirm that neither the manuscript nor any parts of the manuscript are currently under review or already published in another journal. In particular, the authors shall pay attention to the "Submission Preparation Checklist" before submitting the manuscript. The SOP for authors for manuscript submission could be found HERE.

All submissions will be peer-reviewed in a double-blind process. Therefore, authors information should be provided only on the TITLE PAGE. Submission to this journal proceeds totally online. Submissions mailed to the editorial office will not be processed. Use the following guidelines to prepare your article. Upon accepted stage, authors shall provide all figures in high resolution separately from the main manuscript. # Recent Research Progress

2. Non Peer-Review Article

This non peer-review article type is named as "New Frontier from Indonesian Research". It is prepared by Editor-in-Chief and Vice Editor-in-Chief as well as the Managing Editors to highlight the top research achievements based on the Q1 journal with impact factor published papers from emerging chemists investigators in Indonesia. It will contain highlighted published paper and the interview where it will be based on the author's preference. In details, it will describe the statement of the research, bibliography of the corresponding author, how the authors develop their research work to that level and the perspective of that research.
